In a blow to Tottenham, manager Thomas Frank has slammed new Arsenal signing Eberechi Eze, stating he only wants players who are fully committed to the club.
The £60 million transfer for Eze fell through with Spurs after the player reportedly chose to join his boyhood club, Arsenal.
Speaking ahead of his team’s match against Manchester City, Frank said, “I don’t want any players that don’t want to come to the club, to wear this fantastic badge.”
Tottenham had hoped Eze would replace the injured James Maddison and are now pursuing new targets like Manchester City’s Savinho and Morgan Rogers.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hinted at Eze’s desire to join the club, calling a player’s eagerness and connection to the team the “number one” factor in a transfer decision.
