Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has been boosted by the return of midfielder Joe Willock and the availability of new signing Jacob Ramsey for Monday’s match against Liverpool.
Ramsey, a 24-year-old midfielder who joined from Aston Villa for £39m, has impressed Howe in training and is set to make his debut.
Howe also expressed relief that Willock’s recent injury was not as serious as initially feared, stating the midfielder is “looking good” after returning to training.
Despite these boosts, Howe is likely to keep an unchanged lineup due to the continued absence of striker Alexander Isak.
This means new defenders Malick Thiaw and Sven Botman, along with Jamaal Lascelles, may have to remain patient on the bench.
Howe is looking to harness the energy of the home crowd at St. James’ Park, calling it “vital” for the team’s performance against the Premier League champions.
