KCCA have confirmed the departure of captain Julius Poloto following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, closing out a decade-long spell at the club.
Poloto joined the KCCA Soccer Academy in 2015 before breaking into the senior side under then-coach Mike Mutebi in 2019.
He went on to establish himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers and, eventually, its captain.
During his time at Lugogo, Poloto played a central role in KCCA’s domestic success. He was part of the squad that lifted Uganda Premier League titles in 2017 and 2019, while also contributing to back-to-back Uganda Cup triumphs in 2017 and 2018. His most memorable moment came in the 2018 final when he scored the decisive goal to seal victory.
“KCCA will always regard Julius Poloto as the heart of the club, our true son, and a permanent part of our history,” the club said in a statement. “We thank him for a decade of memories and wish him the best in the future.”
Poloto’s departure marks the end of a significant era for the Kasasiro Boys, with the midfielder leaving as both a leader and symbol of the club’s success.
