Britain’s Emma Raducanu clinically defeated Indonesian qualifier Janice Tjen to reach the US Open third round, winning 6-2, 6-1 in exactly 60 minutes.
The 2021 US Open champion, ranked 34th, showcased strong serving and deep groundstrokes, preventing the crafty Tjen from finding her rhythm.
Raducanu hit eight aces and won 76% of her first-serve points, continuing her impressive form this season.
“I’m very pleased with how I played,” said Raducanu.
Her next opponent could be former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
