Donald Trump is set to attend the US Open men’s singles final on Sunday, marking his first visit to the Grand Slam tennis event since 2015.
A White House official confirmed the president, who was re-elected in 2024 for a second term, is expected to attend the New York City tournament.
Trump, 79, a native of Queens where the tournament is held, has not attended the event since taking office in 2016.
In his last visit a decade ago, he was joined by his wife, Melania, and was greeted by American six-time major champion John McEnroe.
The men’s final will not feature any American players.
The finalists will be decided by Friday’s matches, with Novak Djokovic playing Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner facing Felix Auger-Aliassime. The final is scheduled to begin at 14:00 (19:00 BST) on Sunday.
