Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy says “age is just a number” as he starts a new chapter of his career with Italian club Cremonese.
The 38-year-old, who scored 200 goals in 500 appearances for Leicester, signed with the newly-promoted Serie A side on a free transfer.
He could make his debut against Verona on Monday.
Vardy dismissed questions about his motivation, telling a reporter, “You must be one of the doubters. You’re one that I’ll have to prove wrong.”
He added that he will keep playing as long as his legs feel fresh.
His main goal for the club is to help them stay in the league, a task he is familiar with from his time at Leicester.
“The main task is making sure we stay in the league,” Vardy said, adding that the team should take each game “one-by-one.”
