Chelsea have reached a pre-agreement to sign 22-year-old striker Emanuel Emegha from partner club Strasbourg in 2026.
The move, which will see Emegha join the Blues on a seven-year contract after one more season in France, influenced Chelsea’s decision not to sign a new striker on transfer deadline day.
Emegha, Strasbourg’s captain, has scored 23 goals in 57 league appearances and turned down offers from other major clubs to secure the deal.
This transfer highlights the growing connections between Chelsea and Strasbourg, both owned by BlueCo.
The clubs have exchanged multiple players this summer, including Ben Chilwell’s loan to Strasbourg and the return of academy player Ishe Samuels-Smith to Chelsea just one month after his transfer.
The recent transfers follow FIFA’s multi-club ownership guidelines, which allow for permanent deals as long as they reflect fair market value.
