CAF Champions League: Vipers Seize First-Leg Advantage Over African Stars

Uganda’s football community has been urged to rally behind clubs representing the country in this year’s CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, with league champions Vipers SC leading the charge.

The Venoms host Namibia’s African Stars tomorrow night at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg in South Africa.

A win or draw will send them into the next round of Africa’s premier club competition, and officials say strong home support could make the difference.

Away from the pitch, political hopeful Faridah Nambi has pledged to invest in community playing grounds if elected Kawempe North MP.

She says better sports infrastructure will help nurture talent and keep youth engaged, aligning with the nationwide call for stronger grassroots development.

With Vipers chasing continental progress and leaders pushing for improved facilities, Ugandan football finds itself at a pivotal moment that calls for unity and passionate backing from fans.
