The oil and gas fraternity will trade hard hats for sports gear this Friday as the inaugural Oil and Gas Sports Gala takes center stage at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
The event, sponsored by the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), will bring together staff from companies across the sector for a full day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie.
Participants will compete in football, netball, and woodball, with an exciting special category lined up for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to show off their competitive spirit.
According to UNOC Senior Corporate Relations Officer Herbert Ssempogo, the gala is about more than just competition. It’s designed to promote healthy living among professionals while strengthening community ties.
“We work in communities that are not as advantageous as many others, so the event is not only about teamwork and wellness but also about solidarity and social responsibility,” Ssempogo said.
The Oil and Gas Sports Gala is expected to become an annual flagship event, deepening relationships across the industry and celebrating unity through sport and service.
