KCCA Volleyball Club capped off a remarkable weekend for the Kasasiro franchise after clinching the men’s title at the National Volleyball Clubs Championship with a 3-0 sweep over defending champions Nemo Stars on Sunday in Kampala.
The victory completed a clean sweep for KCCA, as both their men’s and women’s teams were crowned national champions, underlining the club’s growing dominance in Ugandan volleyball.
In the men’s final held at the Old Kampala Arena, KCCA started strong, outmuscling Nemo Stars in a tightly contested first set that ended 25-22. They carried that momentum into the second set, pulling away to take it 25-18. Nemo Stars tried to mount a comeback in the third, but KCCA held their nerve to seal the set 26-24 and close out the match in straight sets.
Head coach Alex Mugoda was full of praise for his team’s effort and composure on the big stage. “I am so thrilled that both our men’s and women’s teams will be representing Uganda at the continental level next year,” Mugoda said.
“The boys executed our game plan perfectly to defeat the reigning champions.”
The victory marks a defining moment for KCCA Volleyball Club, who have steadily built one of the most competitive setups in the country.
