Nemo Stars Ladies and Sky Volleyball Club men earned promotion to the National Volleyball League Serie A after dominant displays at the Nsambya Sports Arena over the weekend.
In the women’s playoffs, Nemo Stars Ladies powered through a tough lineup to clinch their spot in the top flight.
They started strong with a commanding 3-0 victory over Espoir VC, winning 25-20, 25-05, and 25-03. Their momentum carried into the next tie against Nkumba VC, where they quickly went up two sets (25-16, 25-12).
Nkumba briefly threatened a comeback by taking the third set 25-22, but Nemo regained control in the fourth, winning 25-19 to secure their place in the playoff final.
The final proved to be a thriller, as Nemo edged Elyon VC in a tight five-set battle. Displaying composure and resilience, they triumphed 3-2 to seal their return to the women’s Serie A.
In the men’s category, Sky VC completed their own fairytale weekend with a decisive 3-0 sweep over Uganda Prisons VC in the playoff final.
The victory capped a strong campaign and confirmed Sky’s elevation to the elite Serie A division for next season.
