The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has donated Zakayo Category 1 official match balls worth UGX 50 million to all 16 Uganda Premier League (UPL) clubs, reinforcing its push to professionalize local football.
During a handover ceremony at FUFA House in Mengo, each club received 30 Zakayo match balls, part of ongoing efforts to standardize competition equipment across domestic leagues.
FUFA 3rd Vice President and Competition Executive Supervisor Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi presided over the event, noting that the initiative aligns with the federation’s drive to improve the quality and fairness of league play.
“FUFA is determined to ensure that every club competes on a level playing field with standard equipment that meets international standards,” Nakiwala said.
The Zakayo Category 1 ball, FUFA’s official match ball, is approved for use across all national competitions, including the Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League, and Uganda Cup.
The federation believes such interventions are key to sustaining its broader competition reforms and elevating football standards nationwide.
