Nerrick ‘Bulabe’ Tumusiime made a powerful statement in the light middleweight division of the Uganda Boxing Champions League after a convincing 7–0 win (after review) over Kasasa Isaac in a thrilling bout at Club Obligato, broadcast live on NBS Sport.
The five-round contest started evenly, with both young fighters trading sharp jabs and counterpunches. But as the rounds wore on, Nerrick’s superior control and composure began to show, gradually tilting the fight in his favor. By the final bell, the judges had little doubt about the winner.
It was a particularly meaningful victory for Nerrick, who had managed only one win in his previous three outings, while Kasasa entered the ring with two victories from three fights. Their clash carried extra intrigue since both are Senior Five students, making it as much a battle of youthful ambition as boxing skill.
Emotions ran high after the final decision. Kasasa was visibly disappointed with the outcome, while Nerrick shared an emotional moment with his mother, who had cheered him ringside. With tears in his eyes, he vowed to reward her sacrifices by building her a house and buying her a car once his career takes off.
The night also featured several other entertaining bouts. Kaddu Julious defeated Kizira Anwar, Mugisha Patrick edged Asiimwe Prince, Amoko Innocent outpointed Mbaziira Eliphaz, and Musoke Reagan cruised past Kimuli Henry, among others.
The Uganda Boxing Champions League continues to provide a platform for young fighters like Nerrick to showcase their talent, grit, and dreams of rising through the boxing ranks.
