The Villa in Bukoto was packed to capacity on Sunday as NBS Sport, Next Radio, and Guinness hosted a lively watch party for the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United, which ended in a 2–1 win for the visitors.

The event, part of the Guinness Match Day campaign, brought together hundreds of fans who turned up to enjoy the live screening, giveaways, and interactions with top sports personalities.

Manchester United fans dominated the atmosphere, breaking into chants and celebrations as their team secured a famous victory at Anfield, while Liverpool supporters endured friendly banter during the game and after the final whistle.

Fans won branded gift hampers, including Guinness caps and jerseys, and enjoyed discounted Guinness products throughout the night.

The event also featured meet-and-greet sessions with Next Media’s head of Sports Broadcast Andrew Kabuura, alongside NBS Sport presenters Fifi Phionah Pinky, Sera Yaweh, Nina Kakwanzi, and MC Ronnie McVex from Next Radio, among others.

On the pitch, Manchester United ended their nine-year wait for a win at Anfield, securing their first away triumph over Liverpool since January 2016.

Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for United inside the first minute, finishing off a quick move that caught the hosts off guard.

Liverpool pushed back, with Cody Gakpo twice hitting the post, before finally equalising through the Dutchman midway into the second half.

But United, led by manager Ruben Amorim, restored their lead late in the game when captain Harry Maguire rose highest to head home Bruno Fernandes’ cross in the 84th minute.

The result condemned Liverpool to a fourth consecutive defeat and lifted United within two points of the Premier League champions.

Guinness continues to hold such fan-centred experiences across Uganda, giving supporters a chance to enjoy major football matches together while celebrating their love for the game.
