Groundbreaking FIFA Unites: Women’s Series 2025 Set to Kick Off in Morocco

Women’s football is set to take centre stage once again in Morocco as the FIFA Unites: Women’s Series 2025™️ kicks off this weekend, marking a historic milestone for the women’s game.

The four-team tournament, which will run from Sunday, 26 October to Saturday, 1 November at the Stade Municipal de Berrechid, brings together teams from Afghanistan, Chad, Libya, and Tunisia in a celebration of resilience, progress, and unity through football.

For Afghan Women United, this event carries special significance. The team will play their first-ever international matches, marking their return to the global stage under FIFA’s guidance after years of uncertainty.

Their participation stands as a powerful symbol of hope for Afghan women and girls everywhere, and is part of a wider FIFA strategy dedicated to supporting and rebuilding Afghan women’s football.

Joining them are Chad and Libya, both set to make their FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking debuts at the conclusion of the round-robin competition.

The two nations’ inclusion reflects FIFA’s ongoing mission to create opportunities for emerging teams and strengthen women’s football development across all regions.

Representing North Africa’s growing influence in the women’s game, Tunisia, currently ranked 96th in the world, enters the tournament as the most experienced side. With eyes on the trophy, Tunisia will look to showcase their quality and leadership as they face off against the debutant nations.

The opening day of the tournament on Sunday, 26 October will feature Afghan Women United taking on Chad at 17:00, followed by Tunisia facing Libya at 20:00. Action continues on Wednesday, 29 October, when Chad meet Libya before Tunisia clash with Afghan Women United.

The series concludes on Saturday, 1 November, with Libya playing Afghan Women United and Chad taking on Tunisia in what promises to be an exciting finale.

Beyond the competition itself, the FIFA Unites: Women’s Series 2025™️ stands as a landmark moment for equality and inclusion in sport. It reflects FIFA’s broader commitment to ensuring that every woman and girl has the right to play football, pursue her dreams, and thrive through the game.

By providing a platform for new teams to compete internationally, FIFA continues to drive progress and inspire future generations of players.

As Morocco also hosts the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2025™️, the nation once again becomes a global hub for women’s football. The coming week promises not only exciting matches but also a profound celebration of courage, empowerment, and the unifying power of the beautiful game.

Further information on ticketing for the tournament’s final matchdays, scheduled for Wednesday, 29 October and Saturday, 1 November, will be announced in the coming days.
