The National Basketball League finals resume tonight, October 31, at Lugogo Indoor Arena with two Game Four matchups, each locked in its own test of control.
The men’s series sees reigning champions City Oilers lead Namuwongo Blazers 2–1, while the women’s finals have defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins holding a similar 2–1 advantage over JT Lady Jaguars.
Both champions are two wins away from sealing another title, but their challengers have shown signs of life.
Tonight’s double-header, live on NBS Sport and AfroMobile, will reveal whether those signs grow into full resistance or fade under pressure.
The Oilers and Blazers headline the night’s late game at 9 pm after JKL and JT open proceedings at 7 pm.
In the men’s division, Namuwongo Blazers’ 80–70 victory on Tuesday kept their season alive.
After losing the opening two games 76–70 and 90–83, the Blazers found rhythm, driven by Peter Obleng’s 20 points and a rejuvenated defence anchored by Tonny Drileba. The win gave them belief and denied the Oilers a commanding 3–0 lead.
City Oilers still hold the advantage, built on the consistency of Chad Bowie, Mer Maker, Fayed Baale, and Kurt Wegscheider.
Their pursuit of an eleventh consecutive title continues to define the league’s modern era,. Still, the Blazers, chasing their maiden championship, know that another win tonight would turn the finals into a three-game sprint.
The women’s side mirrors that intensity. JKL Lady Dolphins lead 2–1 after their 77–59 triumph in Game Three.
Their defence strangled the Jaguars’ offence in the final quarter, limiting them to eight points and showing once again why JKL have been the dominant force in women’s basketball.
Hope Akello and Flavia Oketcho continue to anchor a balanced lineup that thrives under pressure.
JT Lady Jaguars, making their first-ever finals appearance, have already written their name into history.
Their Game One win proved they can challenge the champions, but they have struggled to maintain that standard since. For them, tonight is about rediscovering that belief and turning energy into endurance.
Both games tonight carry identical stakes. If the Oilers and JKL win, they move within a single victory of their titles and could be crowned on Sunday.
If Namuwongo and JT triumph, both series return to 2–2, setting up a tense run-in that would test every team’s resolve.
Fans inside the arena and those watching on NBS Sport and AfroMobile will witness history in motion, as dominant dynasties fight to extend their legacy and ambitious challengers push to rewrite the story.
