The women’s finals resume tonight, October 31, four Game Four, with JKL Lady Dolphins one step away from seizing full control.
The defending champions lead the JT Lady Jaguars 2–1 and will target another win to move within reach of a fifth National Basketball League crown.
For the Jaguars, they must win tonight to keep the series alive and to prove they have learned from the mistakes that cost them Game Three.
Their debut finals campaign has been historic, but they face a champion that knows how to finish.
Game Three on Tuesday night was a reminder of JKL’s pedigree. The Lady Dolphins won 77–59 after breaking the Jaguars’ resistance in the final quarter.
The Jaguars started strong, leading 24–18 after the first quarter, and went to halftime trailing by only a point at 36–35.
But the fourth quarter separated them. JKL’s defense shut them down, limiting them to just eight points, while their offensive core of Hope Akello, Flavia Oketcho, Evelyn Nakiyinji, and Brenda Ekone closed the game with authority.
This balance defines JKL’s reign. Every player contributes, and they rarely panic under pressure.
Their 2–1 lead reflects experience more than dominance, but it also highlights how much sharper they become in decisive moments. With Akello leading the scoring and Oketcho dictating tempo, the Lady Dolphins know how to punish lapses.
For the Jaguars, those lapses have been the difference. They played nearly flawless basketball in Game One, winning 69–52 through energy and teamwork.
Since then, inconsistency has hurt them. Rhoda Nagitta and Shakirah Nanvubya remain their offensive anchors, but they need support from the rest of the roster to stretch JKL’s defense.
The Jaguars’ challenge is to sustain effort for four quarters, not one, or two or three.
Tonight’s Game Four will be both a contest of tactics and a battle of mentality. The Jaguars must believe they belong at this stage, while JKL must keep composure and avoid complacency.
With the series at 2–1, the defending champions could move to the brink of another title. If JKL win tonight, they could wrap up the series on Sunday with another victory.
But a Jaguars victory would reset the fight and force JKL into a real test of their consistency. If JT win, the final stretch will swing open again, with the last two to three games deciding who rules 2025.
