Oklahoma City Thunder guard Nikola Topic, the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, has been diagnosed with testicular cancer and has started chemotherapy treatment.
Thunder General Manager Sam Presti confirmed the news, stating that Topic, 20, had a biopsy on October 6. Doctors are “extremely positive” about the Serbian player’s long-term health outlook.
Presti noted that Topic chose to delay the public announcement until treatments had begun, adding that the guard has continued to train through the process.
“This is his most important priority,” Presti said, emphasizing the team’s total support.
The organization is placing no timeline on when Topic, who missed the 2024-25 season due to a knee injury, will return to play.
