JT Lady Jaguars’ Sudi Ulanga: We Learned Valuable Lessons in the Finals

Despite falling short in the 2025 FUBA Women’s National Basketball League playoffs finals, JT Lady Jaguars head coach Sudi Ulanga believes the experience has been invaluable.

The Kira-based side lost 4-1 in their best-of-seven tie against JKL Lady Dolphins, marking their first-ever finals appearance in their third top-flight campaign.

Ulanga, who led a blend of youth and experienced players, said his team gained key lessons from the experience.

“It’s a lot to learn, and experience is crucial in the finals. Players who have been in the finals before contribute significantly, having won together before. We just didn’t have enough to beat JKL Lady Dolphins; they played well, especially from Game Two onwards. They deserved to win, and they wanted it more than us.”

Ulanga attributed his team’s shortcomings to the high level of pressure in the finals.

“The biggest problem was the pressure, as we expected a lot from ourselves, and it affected us after Game Two. We put too much pressure on ourselves,” he noted.

JKL Lady Dolphins clinched their fifth title in six years, completing a three-peat and continuing their dominance.

In other news, Namuwongo Blazers will clinch their first-ever men’s title if they overcome holders City Oilers in Game Six, scheduled for Wednesday. The action will be broadcast live on NBS Sport and Afromobile.
