The 2025/26 Netball Uganda Super League is shaping up for a dramatic finish, with KCCA Netball Club and NIC Netball Club going head-to-head in what’s becoming one of the fiercest title races in recent years.
KCCA, who dominated the first round, remain at the top of the table as the second round gains momentum. Over the weekend, they extended their lead after a convincing win over UPDF Netball Club. But defending champions NIC refused to blink, producing a strong performance against Prisons Netball Club to keep the pressure on.
KCCA head coach Fred Mugerwa says his team is fully focused on ending NIC’s reign. “We came for the trophy this season, and we’re ready to put in all the effort needed by winning every game,” he said.
But NIC aren’t backing down just yet. Assistant coach Ali Mugisha insists the champions still have plenty to fight for.
“We still have a very big chance to defend our title. It’s true that KCCA is leading, but anything can happen along the way,” he said.
With both sides in top form and refusing to drop points, the battle for the Super League crown promises fireworks as the season heads toward its climax.
