Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is expected to miss about a month of action due to a knee injury sustained against Tottenham Hotspur on November 8.
The 22-year-old, a £74m summer signing from RB Leipzig, was ruled out of international duty and is now set for four weeks on the sidelines.
He has scored two goals in 12 appearances for the club.
The news creates a selection headache for head coach Ruben Amorim, as Sesko’s absence is likely to overlap with the departures of forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo for the Africa Cup of Nations, which starts on December 21.
Amorim is due to provide an update this week ahead of Monday’s Premier League fixture against Everton.
