Uganda added two more medals to its growing tally at the Islamic Solidarity Games after Samuel Cherop and Abel Chebet secured a double podium finish in the men’s 10000m final on Tuesday night in Riyadh.
Cherop took silver in 29:06.58 after staying in contention through a tight front pack, while Chebet closed strongly to claim bronze in 29:07.63.
Their 2-3 finish lifted Uganda’s total to nine medals as the team maintained its strong form on the track.
The result continued Uganda’s momentum in Riyadh and drew praise from supporters at home as the squad pushed toward the final days of competition.
Attention now turns to Wednesday’s program, where Tom Dradriga lines up for the men’s 1500m final.
