McLaren driver Lando Norris enters the Qatar Grand Prix feeling “relaxed,” despite being on the verge of securing his first Formula 1 World Championship.
The Briton leads team-mate Oscar Piastri and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by 24 points. Norris will claim the title this Sunday if he can outscore both rivals by just two points.
Norris emphasized that his mindset remains unchanged, regardless of his strong run of form which reversed a 34-point deficit to Piastri since August.
Both McLaren drivers were recently disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix, costing Norris a larger points lead, but the 26-year-old stated he found it “quite easy just to move on” from the disappointment.
Piastri acknowledged the challenge, calling his title shot “a bit of an outside shot” but confirming he will push for a perfect weekend, hoping for “other things to go my way.”
