Walukuba Rugby Club have announced the death of their devoted fan, Mzee George William Guta, this Wednesday morning on December 3, 2025.

Mzee George William Guta, aged 84 at the time of his death, was such a loyal fan of Walukuba Barbarians, Trojans and Titans that he attended all their home matches since rugby resumed post-COVID.
He was a close member of the Walukuba rugby community in Masese landing site, and the team made sure to celebrate their wins with him.
These include the most recent national 7s series title which Walukuba won two months before Mzee George William Guta’s death.
Rugby fraternities in Jinja and the Eastern Region, plus Uganda Rugby as a whole have sent messages of condolence to Walukuba Rugby Club and the loved ones close to Mzee George William Guta.
Burial and send-off arrangements are yet to be announced.
