Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine is heading straight from celebrating a Carling Knockout victory to representing Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Having just secured his seventh title with Pirates, Chaine expressed his honour to be part of the national squad, stating, “We need to push ourselves to make South Africans feel the way they used to feel.”
Bafana Bafana, aiming to improve on last year’s third-place finish, are in Group B and will face the following teams:
• Angola: Monday, December 15 (Marrakesh)
• Egypt: December 26
• Zimbabwe: December 29
Chaine also shared his excitement about the recent FIFA World Cup draw, recalling the inspirational 2010 opener as he dreams of being part of the global tournament.
