Max Verstappen finished the 2025 Formula 1 season just two points shy of Lando Norris for the World Championship, despite winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Red Bull star completed one of the sport’s most remarkable turnarounds, recovering from a massive 104-point deficit earlier in the season.
Although he won eight Grands Prix, his furious comeback was not quite enough for a fifth consecutive title.
Reflecting on the “massive rollercoaster” season, Verstappen shared his key lesson:
“That’s also a lesson for the future, for everyone, that even when it looks like you’re out of it, you never give up.”
The Dutchman’s resilience did earn him recognition, as the F1 Power Rankings panel named him the best driver of the 2025 season, ahead of Norris and Oscar Piastri.
