Five days before the 35th TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations begins, Morocco’s airports have transformed into the tournament’s first “stadiums.”
Under the theme “Welcome Football, Welcome Fans,” the National Airports Office (ONDA) has turned transit hubs into immersive celebration zones for tens of thousands of arriving supporters.
Fans arriving in cities like Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat are being met with giant AFCON-branded footballs, pulsing LED screens, and monumental arches throughout terminals.
There are also upgraded passenger flows, multilingual signage, and dedicated welcoming zones.
Additional trained staff and volunteers from various national agencies have also been deployed to ensure smooth arrivals.
The four-week race for the title officially starts in Rabat on Sunday, December 21, 2025 with Morocco vs. Comoros.
Having recently hosted the 2024 Women’s AFCON and the 2025 U-17 AFCON, the Kingdom is using this tournament to showcase its readiness to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
