Egypt coach Hossam Hassan insists Mohamed Salah is “highly motivated” for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), despite recent chaos at Liverpool.
The forward arrived in Morocco following a public fallout with manager Arne Slot.
After being benched for three straight games, Salah claimed he was being “thrown under the bus” at Anfield, sparking rumors of a January exit.
However, Hassan says Salah’s focus has shifted entirely to the national team as they prepare to face Zimbabwe on Monday.
“Salah’s morale is very high, as if he were just starting out,” Hassan said. “He is an icon… I feel his motivation is very, very strong.”
At 33, Salah is chasing his first AFCON title after two previous final defeats. Egypt occupies Group B alongside Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Angola.
