South Africa is set for a heavyweight knockout clash against Cameroon this Sunday at the El Barid Stadium.
The matchup was confirmed following a dramatic final night in Group F.
Despite Cameroon’s 2-1 win over Mozambique, they finished second in the group after Ivory Coast pulled off a stunning 3-2 comeback victory against Gabon.
The “Elephants” trailed 2-0 early on but scored a 90th-minute winner to snatch the top spot on goal difference.
While Cameroon enters the match as favorites, Bafana Bafana camp remains confident.
Defender Siyabonga Ngezana recently noted that the team’s relative inexperience will not be a factor as they head into the do-or-die stages of the tournament.
