The Super Eagles have threatened to boycott training and their scheduled trip to Marrakech for Saturday’s AFCON quarterfinal against Algeria.
The squad is protesting unpaid win bonuses from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) covering four tournament matches against Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Mozambique.
According to BBC journalist Oluwashina Okeleji, the players and coaching staff have resolved not to travel on Thursday unless the financial dispute is settled.
This standoff comes just two months after a similar strike during the 2026 World Cup Playoffs.
It adds further strain to a camp already dealing with the fallout of an on-field bust-up between Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman during Tuesday’s match.
The NFF has yet to issue an official response, leaving the team’s preparation for the crucial clash with Algeria in jeopardy.
