Joachim Ojera scored early but Arab Contractors fell to a 2-1 defeat against National Bank of Egypt SC in the Egyptian Premier League.
Ojera gave Arab Contractors a dream start, finding the net just five minutes into the match to hand his side an early advantage.
The Ugandan forward’s strike ensured the visitors carried a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the hosts responded after the break to turn the game around.
Arab Contractors were unable to hold on, conceding twice in the second half as National Bank of Egypt SC secured all three points, rendering Ojera’s early effort insufficient.
Fellow Ugandan Joseph Ochaya began the match on the bench and was introduced late on in the 86th minute as Arab Contractors chased an equaliser.
The result leaves Arab Contractors in a precarious position, sitting just three points above the relegation zone as the pressure mounts in the closing stages of the season.
