Liverpool are unlikely to sell left-back Andy Robertson to Tottenham before the transfer window closes on February 2, despite the clubs previously reaching a deal in principle.
The proposed £5m move has stalled due to a series of complications for the Reds.
Liverpool have been unable to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma while Joe Gomez suffered an injury during Saturday’s defeat at Bournemouth, leaving the squad short on defensive cover.
Manager Arne Slot needs the 31-year-old as backup to preferred starter Milos Kerkez.
While Robertson is reportedly keen for more game time ahead of the 2026 World Cup, he has not pushed for an exit.
Captain Virgil van Dijk has also publicly urged the club to keep the veteran, calling him a “very important” member of the team.
Robertson has won nine trophies and made 364 appearances for Liverpool since joining in 2017.
