The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has extended the deadline for football academy registration to February 13, 2026, as it continues to implement new regulations aimed at professionalising youth football development.
The extension was confirmed in a communication dated January 26, 2026, and is aligned with Statutory Instrument 24 of 2025, which governs the registration, inspection, and licensing of football academies across the country.
FUFA said the registration process is now fully online, with stakeholders required to submit all documentation electronically. The move is intended to make the process more accessible and reduce the need for physical visits to FUFA headquarters.
Academies that successfully pass inspection will be recommended to the National Council of Sports for licensing in line with SI 24 of 2025, Part IX, Regulation 29(2).
Under the revised timeline, applications will close on February 13, inspections will be conducted on February 14, and successful academies will receive FUFA certificates on March 13.
FUFA has designated a staff member to oversee the exercise, with inquiries directed to Mr Reagan Muleekezi.
The federation said the registration drive is part of its broader commitment to improving standards and strengthening youth football structures in Uganda.
