As the 2026 F1 season approaches, former Red Bull boss Christian Horner is reportedly pushing for a majority ownership stake in Alpine.
While Alpine is looking for a fresh start with Mercedes power units following a dismal 2025 finish, Horner’s return hinges on whether Renault is willing to sell a controlling share to his American-backed investment group.
The paddock is bracing for a massive shift as the grid expands to 11 teams.
Cadillac will be making their debut with Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas.
Meanwhile, Audi Revolut will be taking over Sauber with Nico Hülkenberg leading the charge.
The 24-race calendar kicks off next month:
* March 8: Australian Grand Prix (Season Opener)
* March 15: Chinese Grand Prix
* March 29: Japanese Grand Prix
With pre-season testing in Bahrain just days away, all eyes are on whether Alpine’s improved “shakedown” pace is genuine or if Horner will successfully pivot from Team Principal to Team Owner before the lights go out in Melbourne.
