Stanbic Bank Black Pirates kept their strong start to the 2026 Nile Special Rugby Premiership season intact after registering a second straight win, reinforcing early title ambitions.
Pirates opened their campaign with a narrow 26-24 victory against Kobs Rugby Club before following it up with a 23-17 triumph over Buffaloes Rugby Club, leaving them unbeaten and firmly among the early frontrunners.
Elsewhere in the Valentine’s Day fixtures, Victoria Sharks Rugby Club shared the spoils with Kobs in a draw, while Impis Rugby Club secured victory over Heathens Rugby Club to complete an eventful round of matches.
League action resumes on February 21 with Pirates scheduled to face Rhinos Rugby Club. Buffaloes meet Kakira Rugby Club, while Kobs take on Hippos Rugby Club.
