Uganda Officials Receive African Badminton Medalists on Return From Botswana

Officials from the Uganda Badminton Association on Wednesday welcomed women’s doubles bronze medalists Tracy Naluwooza and Shamika Fadilah on arrival at Entebbe International Airport following their podium finish at the All Africa Badminton Championships.

The reception was led by CEO Simon Mugabi, joined by Director of Finance Mohamed Rafi and Marketing Manager Venkata Krishan, alongside relatives and supporters who gathered to acknowledge the pair’s achievement.

Uganda’s Fadilah Shamika Reclaims African Badminton Crown in Botswana

Naluwooza and Fadilah secured bronze in the women’s doubles category while Fadilah won golf in the singles at the continental championships staged in Gaborone, Botswana.

Their result added to Uganda’s medal tally at the event and reinforced the team’s steady presence on the African badminton circuit.

The welcome comes as Uganda prepares for further international competition, with federation officials highlighting the importance of sustained support and exposure for players competing at continental level.
