Galatasaray survived a stunning ten-man Juventus fightback to reach the Champions League last 16, progressing 7-5 on aggregate after a 3-2 defeat in Italy.
Trailing 5-2 from the first leg, Juventus ignited hope through a Manuel Locatelli penalty.
Despite losing defender Lloyd Kelly to a controversial straight red card early in the second half, the Italians remarkably leveled the aggregate score to 5-5 late in regulation through Federico Gatti and Weston McKennie.
However, the numerical disadvantage finally told in extra time. Victor Osimhen silenced the Allianz Stadium in the 105th minute, before Baris Yilmaz—who also provided an assist—sealed the tie with a clinical 119th-minute strike.
The result marks Galatasaray’s first appearance in the knockout stages since 2014, where they will face either Liverpool or Tottenham.
For Juventus, a night of heroic defiance ended in heartbreak as they became the latest giants to fall in this season’s competition.
Final Score (AET): Juventus 3-2 Galatasaray (Agg: 5-7)
Player of the Match: Victor Osimhen
