Vipers returned to the top of the Uganda Premier League table after producing an emphatic 3-0 victory over Lugazi on Tuesday night.
The Venoms delivered a ruthless opening-half display, scoring all three goals before the break to firmly stamp their authority on the contest.
Defender Rogers Torach Ochaki set the tone with a moment of brilliance, launching a thunderous strike from roughly 40 yards that sailed past Lugazi goalkeeper Muhammad Kakooza, who was left helpless as the ball flew into the net.
The hosts quickly built on that momentum. About ten minutes later, midfielder Arafat Usama Kiza produced a similarly spectacular long-range effort, unleashing a powerful shot from distance that mirrored Torach’s opener and doubled Vipers’ lead.
Nigerian, Odili Chukwuma then completed the first-half blitz, drilling a fierce shot at the near post that beat Kakooza and effectively settled the match before the interval.
With the points already secured, Vipers comfortably managed the second half to seal a convincing victory that propelled them back to the summit with 41 points.
Earlier in the day, Kitara had kept the pressure on with a 2-0 win over Entebbe UPPC at Butema Playground, but they remain two points behind the Venoms in the standings.
