The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has cancelled its upcoming friendlies against Jordan and Iran, originally scheduled for later this month in Dubai.

The federation cited the “aggravation of the current conflict in the Middle East” as the primary reason for the decision, calling the move a “serious, prudent, and responsible re-evaluation” of player safety and regional stability.

FAF officials considered keeping one fixture against Jordan but concluded that the financial and administrative costs for a single match were not “strategically justified.”

Angola will now skip the March international window entirely.

The team is currently without a head coach following the recent sacking of Patrice Beaumelle.

The “Palancas Negras,” who did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup, will remain sidelined until the 2027 AFCON qualifiers begin in September.
