She Corporate reignited their FUFA Women Super League title chase with a spirited 2-1 victory over Makerere University WFC, keeping the pressure firmly on leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies.
The Sharks, still smarting from last week’s setback against Kawempe, showed urgency from the opening whistle.
Their intent was rewarded just nine minutes in when Sandra Kisakye pounced to break the deadlock, setting the tone for a dominant first half.
Barely minutes after the restart, in-form striker Jesca Namanda doubled the advantage with a clinical finish. Her 11th goal of the campaign not only sealed her reputation as one of the league’s most lethal forwards but also propelled her to the top of the scoring charts, edging past Kawempe’s Catherine Nagadya.
Makerere University, however, refused to fold. Former She Corporate player Noeline Namiiro came off the bench to pull one back against her old club, sparking hopes of a comeback. Yet despite their late push, the university side couldn’t break down She Corporate’s disciplined defense.
The result lifts She Corporate to 38 points, just one shy of Kawempe Muslim, ensuring the title race remains finely poised heading into the final stretch.
For Makerere, the defeat leaves them stranded in eighth place on 17 points, their inconsistency continuing to undermine progress.
