UEFA has fined Benfica €40,000 for racist behaviour by supporters during their Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
The club also faces penalties of €25,000 for objects thrown and €8,000 for a laser pointer, while assistant coach Pedro Machado is banned for one game.
The 17 February tie in Lisbon, won 1-0 by Real, was overshadowed by Vinícius Jr’s claim that Gianluca Prestianni used a racist slur.
UEFA suspended Prestianni for the return leg, which Madrid won 2-1 to seal a 3-1 aggregate victory.
Benfica’s stadium faces a partial closure order, suspended for a year on probation.
