Kaizer Chiefs have officially unveiled Kaizer Chiefs Ladies, marking their entry into the Gauteng Sasol League and a historic step for women’s football in South Africa.
The project, built through a partnership with Springs Home Sweepers and supported by SAFA, reflects the Club’s commitment to creating pathways for female players. Corporate backing comes from Brima Logistics, ensuring stability for the programme.
Chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung called it “a proud moment” and part of a broader vision to grow the game for future generations.
Marketing Director Jessica Motaung stressed the importance of partnerships in building sustainable opportunities for women in football.
The 24‑player squad blends experience and youth, featuring former Banyana Banyana midfielder Mamello Makhabane and junior internationals Zanele Kunyamane and Katlego Mohale.
The team will be coached by Unathi Mabena, with home matches at the Kaizer Chiefs Village and Kwa Thema Stadium.
