Leeds United reached the FA Cup semifinals for the first time since 1987 after edging West Ham 4-2 on penalties in a dramatic quarterfinal at the London Stadium.
Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin put Leeds 2-0 up, but stoppage-time goals from Mateus Fernandes and Axel Disasi forced extra-time.
Keeper Lucas Perri then saved twice in the shootout to send Leeds to Wembley.
It was Leeds’ second shootout win of the competition, joining Manchester City, Chelsea and Southampton in the last four. The victory offers a rare lift in a season where both clubs are battling relegation.
