The Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) has issued disciplinary action against Weatherhead Hockey Club for participating in the 18th Edition of the Kenya Masibo Hockey Open without official clearance.
In a statement released on April 1, 2026, UHA emphasized that all clubs must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before competing in international tournaments.
The association noted that Weatherhead’s involvement in the March 7–8 event breached established procedures designed to ensure compliance with international governance frameworks and proper coordination with relevant bodies.
Following a review, UHA imposed a warning and a monetary fine on the club. The governing body underscored its commitment to enforcing compliance and safeguarding the integrity of the sport.
“The requirement for a No Objection Certificate is fundamental to maintaining order and accountability in international participation,” the statement read.
“Uganda Hockey remains committed to preserving the integrity of the sport.”
