Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood says he will need to manage his knee injury for the rest of his life, even as he prepares for Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Porto.
The 34-year-old New Zealand forward returned last week after six months out, starting in the 1-1 draw at Estadio do Dragão.
Following surgery in December, Wood admits the injury will never fully heal but insists he always believed in his comeback.
Forest are chasing a semi-final spot against Aston Villa or Bologna, while Wood also targets a World Cup place with New Zealand.
Midfielder Elliot Anderson remains a doubt for the Porto clash after missing training due to personal issues.
