Jamie Carragher says Mikel Arteta will not be sacked even if Arsenal lose the Premier League title, despite surrendering a nine‑point lead.
Arsenal’s 2‑1 defeat at Manchester City cut their advantage to three points, with Pep Guardiola’s side holding a game in hand.
Carragher told Sky Sports: “I don’t think it’s a case that if they didn’t win the league then Arteta would be out of a job.” He added Arsenal must keep belief: “Win all our games and we’ll be champions.”
Arteta echoed that desire: “I’d just stay at home if Arsenal didn’t have it.”
The Gunners face Newcastle at the Emirates this weekend, potentially from second place.
