More than 120 organisations, including the ACLU, have warned fans and visitors to “exercise caution” when travelling to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The advisory cites President Trump’s immigration crackdown, highlighting risks of denial of entry, racial profiling, surveillance, and travel bans affecting nationals from Iran, Haiti, Senegal, and Ivory Coast.
The groups criticised FIFA president Gianni Infantino for his close ties to Trump, accusing the body of failing to guarantee safety.
FIFA insists it is committed to human rights, while US officials say the tournament will be “the largest, safest, and most welcoming” in history.
