Federico Valverde will miss Sunday’s El Clasico after suffering a head cut in a dressing room argument with Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Uruguayan midfielder, 27, was diagnosed with cranioencephalic trauma and must rest for up to two weeks. He insists the injury came when he “accidentally hit a table” and denies the pair fought.

Real Madrid have opened disciplinary proceedings against both players, with president Florentino Perez calling an emergency meeting.
The incident piles pressure on Los Blancos, who trail Barcelona by 11 points. Anything less than victory at the Nou Camp will hand Barça the La Liga title.
