Manchester City’s second offer of £120m for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has been turned down.
The 23-year-old England international prefers a move to the Etihad, but Forest remain firm despite City’s bid — an initial £106m plus add-ons — which would have broken the record fee for an English player.

United have pulled out of the race, while Anderson continues World Cup preparations after starting England’s 3-0 win over Costa Rica.
City, seeking to replace Bernardo Silva, still view Anderson as their top target, with Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali also monitored.
