Shadia Nabirye once again delivered for Uganda as the Teen Cranes defeated Zanzibar 3-0 in their CECAFA U-17 Women Championship 2026 Group B match at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Her first half strike gave Uganda control of the game, setting the platform for another confident performance from a side that has not dropped a point in the tournament so far.
After the match, Nabirye kept her focus firmly on the bigger picture rather than individual praise.
“I am happy to score again today and we continue to work hard ahead of more matches to come,” she said.
It was a simple message that summed up Uganda’s approach in the competition, steady progress, no excess celebration, and a clear focus on what comes next.
Immaculate Achen and Justine Ayerango added the other goals as Uganda sealed another clean and composed win to move into the knockout stage.
While the result strengthened their position in the tournament, it was Nabirye’s contribution and calm reflection after the match that stood out most.
